Dying Breed Studios
A Place of Ideas and Expansion

Dying Breed Studios was founded in 2020Â by two Game Developers: Nolan Dugger and Blake McCann. Two cousins who grew up together are fueled by their love for childhood video games and newer games alike. We work hard to bring our vision to life creating a unique gaming experience for a targeted group of players. Read on to learn more about what we do best!
Get To Know Us
Get to know Dying Breed Studios, an original Game Studio. We’re hustlers, shakers and game-makers. Our studio was founded in 2020, and we’ve been working on our first ever video game. We are proud to have come from knowing absolutely nothing about game development, to now having an adept knowledge of using Unity and Playmaker in order to have our vision come to life. Let us know what we can do for you, and read on to check out some of the great progress we've made!
Game Progress
We have been developing our first ever game since August, 2019 and we are very excited with the progress that's been made in such a short amount of time. This is a turn-based strategy/horror game based on interpretations of subconscious, real-life experiences. Currently, we do not have a Title for our game as we feel the timing is not quite right to give it one yet. However, you can see in the videos below just how far we've come.
2 Month Progress
The first 2 months were used to learn and integrate third-person movement and camera follow, animation optimization and map build. As new developers, we found this was the most challenging obstacle to overcome as the learning curve was fairly steep.

4 Month Progress
After only 4 months of progress on our game, we attempted to chip away at our turn based combat scene. Using playmaker and standard Unity capsule objects we developed a system where our player and enemy can move from tile to tile along the surface of the plane. In-depth visual scripting was required to accomplish the basic movement and animation functions for our desired outcome.
6 Month Progress
6 Months of working on our game we achieved linking health and ap values for damage taken, damage given and ap used. Various additions between 4 and 6 months were also built into the game such as an inventory system (needs work), a waypoint management system for enemy follow, item-pick up with rarity coloring, etc.
10 Month Progress
At this stage in our development we are focusing design work of the mansion our characters will take place in. We are always fine tuning whatever we put down as a design. We are also refining the way our turn-based combat works. More to come on that!
